Dr. Marina Villanueva has a degree in Biotechnology and a Master in Current Knowledge of Rare Diseases. She obtained her PhD in Biotechnology, Engineering and Chemical Technology (International mention, Cum Laude) in 2019. Her main lines of research are focused on the comprehension of idiosyncratic drug-induced liver injury (DILI) mechanisms using patient-derived in vitromodels to develop novel biomarkers and promote their transfer into clinical practice. She is scientific manager of the COST ACTION 17-112, «Prospective European Drug-Induced Liver Injury Network», (https://proeurodilinet.eu/).
